Remember when Wednesdays meant there was a fresh alt-weekly newspaper in the newspaper box on the corner?
In it you found faces you recognized — of your friends and maybe even yourself. Mirror Indy’s new arts and culture newsletter is an ode to that magic, which is why it will hit your mailbox every Wednesday at noon. You can read or listen to it!

Call me and tell me who you love
In this newsletter: Announcing the 2025 Art & Soul featured artists, Mad Libs with writer Kaveh Akbar, and Valentine’s things.
It’s basically February already.
For Valentine’s Day, we are asking YOU to leave us a voicemail and tell us who you love.
These recordings are meant to be anonymous — unless you are a PDA-type person and want us to share your name.
All you need to do is call (317) 721-5102, wait for the beep and speak your romantic words. Use this as an opportunity to save money on flowers or cards.
Here are some ideas:
- Whisper the name of your crush.
- Sing a little jingle.
- Tell your dog or cat or gerbil that you love them.
- Leaving love notes to grandparents is totally okay, too.
- Now that I think about it, leaving a love message for public figures is okay too. Just, you know, don’t be weird.
Lastly: try to keep it short and sweet!
We will make an audio story with all these messages and share them with you close to Valentine’s Day.
