PLAY LIST
Remember when Wednesdays meant there was a fresh alt-weekly newspaper in the newspaper box on the corner?
In it you found faces you recognized — of your friends and maybe even yourself. Mirror Indy’s new arts and culture newsletter is an ode to that magic, which is why it will hit your mailbox every Wednesday at noon. You can read or listen to it!

🖼️Your fall guide to art shows
Hello,
Last week, we asked you what our readers/listeners should be called and these are some of the responses that came in.
- PlayListeners
- Spuds
- Listeners
- Listers
- PlayListers
- PL bbs
While PlayListers received the most votes, I gotta say that I really like Spuds. Who doesn’t love a good potato?
So I think what I’ll do is officially name us PlayListers, but call us Spuds informally and on weekends, if that makes sense.
Dear PlayListers: Today we have so much good stuff. We have a story about the Little India restaurant in SoBro that will make you cancel your plans and drive over to eat chicken tikka masala or Gobhi Manchurian.
We also have a guide to art shows to see this fall.
Visiting art galleries in the fall is one of my favorite things to do, so I want to make sure everyone knows what is happening when.
We also have big news from Free Press Indiana, the org that supports and helped launch Mirror Indy (our parents, basically).
LASTLY, we have our very first reader-submitted playlist. Yes, you, too can share your playlist with us! You can listen to PlayLister Anna Saraceno’s “Sampled Soul” jams here.
